3 Ways to Get Rid of Greasy Hair

How to Handle Oily Hair

Astringents

Astringents like witch hazel and mouthwash can help tighten pores and temper oil production in your scalp. Use either one or both together for a great double-dose scalp solution. Just dab on the oily scalp as a toner after your shower.

Epsom Salts

Mix two tablespoons of Epsom salts into your regular shampoo. Massage the mixture into the roots and scalp, avoiding the ends. Condition as usual. Epsom salts are inexpensive and can be found at most drugstores!

Rosemary and Sage Scalp Toner

If you have an oily scalp, try this toning rinse. Rosemary and sage are great astringents that also help stimulate hair follicles. Take sprig or two of rosemary, along with equal parts sage, and place the herbs in a small saucepan with water to cover. Bring to a simmer and remove from the heat. Allow to steep for 10-20 minutes, then strain. Massage into wet hair daily. Store the leftovers in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
